2012 Lesson Information is Finally Here!

Whew!

This past month has been one of the busiest that my family has experienced in a while!  Between celebrating all three birthdays in my family, hosting large events for friends, traveling, and the biggest event of all: having my husband begin a large work project four hours away in Aspen, CO, my life has felt like such a whirlwind!

I apologize again to the many of you who have been actively inquiring about, waiting for, and watching for news about swim lessons over the past month--or more.  I didn't want to keep you waiting this long.

I have good news now:  Today your wait is over!

Here are the Details:

My husband's project in Aspen will keep him away from home on weekdays for the forseeable future.  For we swimmers, that means three significant changes will take place:

1.  I will teach fewer lessons this year.  One large session, one four-day mini-session.  All will take place in June (see schedule and calendar below).

2.  I will not be available in the evenings this year.  2012 swim lessons will take place on weekday mornings.

3.  My sons (ages four and two) will no longer have someone at home to watch them while I teach.  As their mother and primary caregiver, the only way that I can teach swim lessons is if they are well cared-for first.

So, to open possibilities for swim lessons to continue, I am offering a DISCOUNT of $2.00 per lesson to those parents who are willing to watch my kids swim or play while their kids swim with me.  For group lessons, this could mean a possible discount of $18.00 ($2.00 x 9 days of lessons = $18.00)!

*Please note, the lessons scheduled below are contingent on my children having babysitting set in-place first.  I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to some of you. Please call me if you are interested in helping me, for a discounted rate.  Contact info HERE.

Thank you all for your patience in waiting so long for this information.  I hope that these modifications in schedule and procedure will benefit your needs well.  Please contact me any time with your questions or concerns.

I look forward to working with you!

About Me and My Pool

new5
Hi, I'm Tiffany Norris and I love to swim!

I was certified to teach swimming in 2004 by the American Red Cross, and base all my lessons on standards from their Learn-to-Swim program levels 1-6. I am thorough in covering new concepts and prefer to teach with a more playful twist, involving a lot of games and props, especially when it comes to teaching little ones who are new to the water. Although I believe children can learn to swim at a variety of ages based on ability, as a general guideline, I recommend that children be around 3 1/2 - 4 years old when beginning formal swim instruction.

All swim lessons will take place in the evenings at my neighborhood swimming pool in Littleton, CO. Myself and all participants will be subject to my neighborhood HOA pool regulations, including that only four swimmers may join me in the pool or on deck at a given time. Parents of swimmers will be welcome to view their little ones from a close distance--only a few feet away--on grassy areas just off the pool deck.

Group Lesson Information

Group-Lesson-collage
Group lessons last 1/2 hour each for a total of 9 days. Due to my pool's HOA regulations, these groups will remain small-- never consisting of more than four students.

Upon completion of session of lessons, students will receive a report card like this one to show what he/she has learned and my recommendations for future swim progress:

This summer I will be offering several opportunities to take group lessons in a variety of ability levels, ranging from beginning toddlers to advanced swimmers.

Group lesson price: $75.00 per session (9 days), OR $9.00 per lesson.
*Lesson fees will be due at the conclusion of the first lesson.

**A few discounts will be offered for lessons during the 2012 swim season.  See "2012 Lesson Information Is Finally Here" above if this interests you.

Private Lesson Information

Private lessons last 1/2 hour each for as many days as you choose, subject to availability. These times are reserved for those students who, either as individuals or in small groups (i.e. with siblings or friends), would like a more one-on-one focus.

Upon completion of private lessons, students will receive a report card to show what he/she has learned and my recommendations for future swim progress (see "Group Lessons" above).

Due to popularity in past years, I have reserved more opportunities to take private lessons this summer. Please keep in-mind, these times fill-up very quickly!

Private lesson price: $15.00 per lesson.
*Lesson fees will be due at the conclusion of the first lesson.

**A few discounts will be offered for lessons during the 2012 swim season.  See "2012 Lesson Information Is Finally Here" above if this interests you.

Lesson Cancellation Policy

My Commitment to You

As your teacher, I pledge to arrive on time, rain or shine, with a happy-to-swim attitude.  Always.

Unfortunately, Colorado weather can get unpredictable--sometimes beyond just rain or shine.

I promise to always use my best judgement in making the decision to cancel a lesson, and only as a last resort. This is something that I take very seriously, as I have scheduled only one rain day per session.

Please also note, I CAN NOT RESCHDULE any lesson for any reason other than hazardous weather or major emergencies.  If you choose to miss a lesson for any other reason, please know that you are choosing to forfeit that lesson and all time/funds invested therein permanently.   This is a no-exceptions policy.  Due to difficulties in previous years, I must be very firm on this.  I apologize for any inconvenience.
